Promoting British Values at Thrumpton Primary Academy

Promoting British Values at Thrumpton Primary Academy 1

In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British Values within the academy to ensure young people leave education prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.

The attached curriculum map and photo slide show demonstrate how we, at Thrumpton, address and promote the British Values of:

  • Democracy
  • Rule of Law
  • Individual Liberty
  • Mutual Respect
  • Tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs

Equality Statement.

'At Thrumpton Primary Academy we are committed to ensuring equality of education and opportunity for all pupils, staff, parents and carers, irrespective of age, race, gender, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief and socio-economic background. We aim to develop a culture of inclusion and diversity in which all those connected to the academy feel proud of their identity and able to participate fully in academy life.'
