Such a fantastic experience for the children. Year 6 were amazing. They enjoyed activities such as archery, climbing, raft building, roasting marshmallows over a bonfire and being kept awake by noisy sheep outside the bedroom windows. The weather was wet, cold and a little bit more wet. As always the children didn't let it bother them and they enjoyed all their activities regardless (with many laughs along the way).
Supporting their friends (literally) as they climbed the Leap of Faith.
The children exploring a hunting step built into the moors. Apparently it fits all 25 children and Mrs Brown!
The children were absolutely brilliant. Their enthusiasm and humor made for a wonderful trip for everyone involved.
We have been learning how to cook biscuits in Year 6. These biscuits are made from an Australian recipe.
The next KiddiCook sessions will take place on the 11th and the 18th of July. Please ensure your child has brought in their permission slips and £3 to take part.
Year Six have been exploring plants in science.
We dissected Lilies to find the different parts of a plant.
We also put flowers into food dye to find out how plants feed themselves.
Then we taught year 3 everything we had learnt.
Sats Week is Monday May 9th to Friday May 13th - please do not book any holiday in this week and ideally not until at least the end of June as writing is assessed up to this time.
Well done Year 5 & 6!!
We are very proud of your hard work with our end of term show... ZOOM!!
During the Spring term our topic will be 'Space'. We will be closely following the progress of Tim Peake along with studying the planets, the moon and our Solar System.
Please see Spring term planning sheet below to find out more details of the different subjects.
Every week Year 6 will receive Literacy and Numeracy homework and spellings to learn. A topic menu, which is not compulsory will be sent out in the first week.
- Normally, homework will be handed out on a Wednesday and expected to be returned completed by the following Monday - this is subject to change.
- All of the children are expected to read with/to an adult at home at least 3 times per week. Some children will be expected to read more but I will make them aware of this. I would like contact books to be completed - even if by the children - these will be checked on a Friday.
